- What is CharacterPlanet?
CharacterPlanet is a social network for online gamers with a primary focus on YOU, the gamer. Members can upload pictures, videos, and blogs for both their real life and mmorpg character(s). Members can also enjoy great games such as the slot machine or a stay at the CharacterPlanet track. Functional features such as personalized guild forums with multiple access levels also exist for the gamer’s convenience as well as an integrated chat system. If a gamer needs it, you can be assured CharacterPlanet has it.
- Who made CharacterPlanet?
CharacterPlanet was created by me, Dan Anton, along with the help of my brother Matt Anton. Together we have over 25 years of online gaming experience. We are gamers, and therefore strive to give the best gamer friendly community/service based website for gamers. We are open-minded, passionate gamers and love all the feedback and support we have been receiving. You are the heart of CharacterPlanet and we thank you.

As much as we love myspace we saw the need for a community with more in common than just being “homo sapiens”; on CharacterPlanet your gamer passion is free to run wild. Whether it’s creating a personalized character blog, meeting up with guild mates, or asking a newbie question on the forums, the game related topics are welcomed. - What is the CharacterPlanet Slot Machine?
The Slot
Machine is an official slot machine with well balanced odds. Users here can kick back and relax on some reels or seek the thrill of hitting the jackpot. Regular members can enjoy 50 pulls per day while Power Members enjoy 300 pulls per day. Most users prefer to bet 1 or 5 credits but if you’re feeling lucky go for the big jackpot with the 10!
- What is the CharacterPlanet Race Track?
Who doesn’t enjoy a big cluster race of randomness? At the CharacterPlanet Race Track you can bet on one of the 8 racers running. The winner will receive TRIPLE the original bet, 2nd place will receive DOUBLE, and 3rd will win back your bet (break even). Regular members can enjoy 10 races per day while Power Members can enjoy unlimited races. This race is simple yet highly addictive so beware!
- What is CharacterPlanet Pic Battle?
The Pic Battle is a battle where YOU choose the outcome. Ever look at two characters and know which one would win? Then you are qualified to play! When you click on the Pic Battle Link two character profile pics will randomly be generated; you decide which character pic would win. The winner will receive Prize Points and you will become the authority on eliteness. Regular members receive 1 point per win while Power Members receive 3 points per win.
- You can post BOTH real life and character blogs?
YES, we feel balance is essential. While we are all gamers we are interested in your real life happenings as well. Keep a daily journal of real life events for other members to read. Write your character blog in either first or 3rd person; you can really get creative with this. You will receive prize points for each entry, more if you are a Power Member. Members can also vote on your entries for both your real life blog and character blog; at the end of the month the top 25 blog entries, (that were voted on with a scale of 1-10), will receive a set amount of Prize Points to be won for that month. An entry must be voted on a minimum of 10 times to be considered for the award.
- What is the custom URL Name?
The custom URL is your own unique address. With a custom URL users can choose any combination of words, letters, and numbers. I.E. My unique URL is “Dan” or www.CharacterPlanet.com/Dan. Once a URL is taken it can not be used again. So Dan cannot be used since I have already claimed it. This is different from your display name which can be changed repeatedly under Edit Real Life Profile -> Name. Be careful when choosing a URL as it is permanent. Users still retain their member ID for invite purposes.
- What are the Forums?
The Forums are a place for members to discuss a myriad of topics from MMO’s to their other hobbies. A member is automatically able to use the forum with his/her display name and begin posting gaming knowledge to the masses. The Power Members Forum is only for Power Members and lists up-to-date tips, cheats, and strategies.
- What is CharacterPlanet Hot/Not?
Hot/Not is the ability to rate member’s Real Life Profiles. To add your picture to the Hot/Not section click “Mange Photos” and select the picture (the option is below the picture) you want to add to Hot/Not. Only one picture in your gallery may be added and changing the picture in the Hot/Not section resets your score. Remember, this section is just for fun so don’t take it so seriously :)
- Why should I put my real picture up and not Chuck Norris?
When you verify your ID by holding up YourName@CharacterPlanet.com in a picture with yourself you will receive 5000 Prize Points! A verified ID account has 100% credibility and this way other gamers know a little bit more about you; if you put up a fake picture it could lessen your credibility depending on how ridiculous it is ;) No obscene or pornographic pictures will be allowed. This will result in a possible deletion of your account and a banned IP address.
- How do I create a Guild on CharacterPlanet?
Click on the Link "Guilds". Here you will have the option to create a guild, view your current guilds, or search guilds. Click Create Guild and fill in the appropriate fields. * You must have a free character to create a new guild since only one character can be in one guild at a time. * Once the guild is created members can upload photos and always edit the guild through the “Guilds Home” link within “Guilds”. Now that your guild is created, click on your guild picture or title; this page will give you several different options. In the left-hand side of the screen you will see “Add new guild forum”. Enter a title for this forum such as General Discussion or Guild Members only. Once created you can setup the access levels for each forum. Click on “Setup access level” link and choose the appropriate level of access for reading, writing, editing, and deleting messages. Now you have created your own guild on CharacterPlanet! Tell your in-game guild mates about it and let them post on your own guild page. This service is FREE and allows gamers to stay in contact.
- How do I change my Top 8 Friends?
From your logged in home page scroll down to My Gamer Friends and My Character Friends. Here you can change the top 8 by selecting “Change Top 8 Friends Link”; now you will be given the ability to drag and drop the friends in the order in which you want them. Once done click Save Top Friends!
- How do I upload my Videos?
Under the "Videos" Link you can select from many different options. Choose Upload Video in the top middle of the screen. Once you setup the criteria your video is viewable to the other members. We absolutely love big in-game battles so please share with the community!
- What is WOWSigs.com?
www.WOWSigs.com is a free service provided by CharacterPlanet. With this service users can create their own personalized sigs (signatures). Non-CharacterPlanet members will receive 1 signature profile. CharacterPlanet Regular members receive 3 signature profiles. CharacterPlanet Power Members receive 5 signature profiles. *Important* Make sure you sign up to WOWsigs with the SAME e-mail as the one you use when logging into CharacterPlanet. This will then verify how many signatures you are allowed. Once your personalized signature is created you can choose to have it link new members your invite code to further increase your chances of earning invite points! Put your sig on your blogs, forums and websites such as myspace to not only show off your character, but to potentially gain massive amounts of Prize Points.
- What are Prize Points?
Prize Points are awarded to active users on CharacterPlanet. Prize Points can be won through completing tasks such as successfully inviting a new member to join with your invite code or even just posting a new picture/blog. For a complete list of how to earn Prize Points click HERE. Keep in mind Prize Points are never wasted and can be carried over into each new month.
- What can I do with Prize Points?
Prize Points can be redeemed for an in-game currency of your choice. Once the details are set, your character will receive the prize and you will be much richer! The value of your in-game prize is directly related to how many prize points you have earned. The more Prize Points you earn the bigger your prize. Please visit the Prize

- When can I exchane my Prize Points for a Prize?
At the beginning of each month the MONTHLY Prize Point total resets to give everyone an equal chance at winning that month (this does NOT affect overall total Prize Points…those points will never be lost since they rollover from previous months). At the end of the month, the winner of the monthly Prize Point total contest will then be able to redeem all of his/her Prize Points acquired through use of the site. If the member does not have the required points for the minimum prize, or chooses to save up for a bigger prize, 10k additional Prize Points will be given. The prize is awarded, and the next month starts with an equal chance for all members
- I love the site…can I earn points just by being logged in?
YES! Regular members will receive 5 prize points for every hour logged in while
Power Members will receive 10 prize points for every hour logged in. That’s a possible 3600 points per month for regular members and 7200 points a month for Power Members for just being logged in! We value your activity on CharacterPlanet and reward it accordingly.
- What is the Top 25 Monthly Inviter Page?
The Top 25 Monthly Invite Page lists the top 25 members who have successfully invited new members to join. These members are in the running to receive the #1 invite prize: We MATCH your monthly invite prize points. I.E. if you have 4500 points for inviting in the month of May you will receive 9000 points (4500 +4500) for the month of May contest. Invites can be gained by putting links on your myspace/website/forums through the “Invite” Link at the top of the Page, or having new members use your invite code when signing up (aka word of mouth). The potential to win huge amounts of points shows the importance of trying to win this title.
- What’s stopping the guy I just invited from not entering my code?
Good Point! We thought of that too and came up with a huge incentive for the new member. New members who sign up using Your invite code will receive a one time 2000 Prize Point Bonus for verifying that they were referred (they will also receive an automatic 1000 for signing up…that’s 3000 points!). This can not be done after the person signs up so make sure you give them all the information (including the value of the 2000 Prize Points and of course your code). Both you and the new member win with this system.
